Give It Away

Sunday, December 21

Help us be part of God’s work in Wylie and beyond this Christmas season.

For more than a decade Waterbrook has been blessed to be able to offer opportunities for our church family to financially support local ministries, pastors, mission endeavors and more through our Give It Away offerings. This year, we are taking ALL of giving this Sunday and Giving It Away to further God’s work in Wylie and beyond.

Keep reading below to learn more about each project and how you (and others) can be involved in this special offering opportunity.

Details You Need To Know

Why Give?

This year, God has blessed our church through the faithful giving of our church body. With that in mind, we want to be a blessing to other people and ministries that we know have great needs this Christmas season.

How to Give?

There will be boxes in the lobby as you walk into the sanctuary. If you would like to give directly to a specific project, you can drop your gift in that box. If you don’t have a preference, you can give to the “Give It Away – General” box, and the pastors will allocate that money to the areas that have the greatest need.

You can also give online using this link. Just make sure to select the “Give It Away” option for the gift. Once you are in, you can select which project you would like to give to.

Got Kids?

Parents, this is a great opportunity to talk to your kids about giving too! One idea is to talk to them about the different projects and even give them money for them to think and pray about where God would have them give this Sunday. It doesn’t need to be a lot, but by getting them involved it will help to instill a heart of giving to the Lord at an early age.

Category 1: Waterbrook Benevolence

Taking care of specific needs within our church has always been a big part of any Gift It Away Sunday at Waterbrook. Gifts in this category will be given to help ease the burden of overwhelming financial and physical needs of those within the Waterbrook family. Additionally, portions will also go towards encouraging our widows and supporting single moms within the Waterbrook family.

Last year we were able to give over $6500 to encourage and bless Waterbrook families.

Category 2: Mission Scholarships

Waterbrook has a deep connection with mission work that God is doing around the world. This Christmas, you can help bless the work God is doing by giving to this category. Money given here will go to support two special causes:

1 – Supporting Orphans in a Closed Country – A gift of just $60 can help change the life of a child by providing food, education, clothing, and other necessities through one of our missionary partners. Because this is a closed country, we are not at liberty to disclose additional information about the location or specifics of the orphanage.

2 – Supporting Hungarian Bible Students – One of our missionary families serves at the Hungarian Word of Life Bible College teaching God’s word to students from around the world. Specifically, this financial gift will go to provide scholarships for Hungarian students who are seeking to learn God’s word and serve within their local churches and communities. Christianity is dramatically declining in Hungary, so these students have incredible opportunities to be a light in a darkening part of the world.

Category 3: Gospel Opportunities

Waterbrook’s mission is to “glorify God by making and growing disciples in Wylie and beyond.”. This category allows us to do that in both Wylie and halfway across the world. Money given here will go to support gospel outreach through the following two ministries:

1 – One for Israel – We know that the Middle East continues to experience tremendous turmoil and hardship. One for Israel has a mission to bring the gospel to both Israeli’s and Arabs within the region. The gospel is growing and this ministry has a heart for all in the Middle East and continues to see God work in those they connect to. Learn more about One for Israel.

2 – Jericho Village (Wylie) – Agape Resource & Assistance Center is developing an urban village offering mixed income rental homes and support services that provide individuals and families with the tools needed to retain or attain economic, emotional and physical stability. Agape uses these support connections to provide opportunities for gospel conversations with families they serve. Our gift will provide kitchen appliances to one family as these homes prepare to open.
